Return to: Plickers
Unit Overview and Objectives
In this unit, the participant will learn how to create a Plickers account and navigate the website and smart phone app. Participants will also develop a knowledge on how to set up a class on Plickers with materials and content needed to be able to use Plickers as a supplementary tool in the classroom.
To begin, first access the Plickers website, plickers.com, on your desktop to create your account. Click on the sign up button on the top right corner to begin. You will be prompted to enter your full name, an email, and a password to create your new account. You may also sign up with a Google account. At this time, you will also want to visit the app store on your smart phone and download the Plickers app.
Once your account is created, the webpage will bring you on a mini tour of the different tabs found at the top of the page. Next, you can begin creating you class roaster, by clicking on the tab Class. Enter your student’s names and assign them a card number. Once your class list is completed, the next step will be to print and cut out the scan able Plickers cards your students are going to use. Be sure to keep your cards organized and label them.
Next, add questions to your Library. Since Plickers is not limited to a specific content, you can create any type of multiple choice or true/false questions you would like and the library will save them all. With different folders you can organize your library of questions by content, topic, class, or grade level. Once you have created a question, you now add it to your created class.
Once you feel satisfied with the questions you are going to use, leave your desktop on Live View. Now you are going to switch over to the app that has been downloaded to your phone. Pull up the class you are going to use on your phone app and then select any question you would like to begin with. Now you are all set to begin your Plickers lesson in your classroom!
Now, you will follow the steps for setting up your free Plickers account. Choose a topic and grade level of your preference and create either a pre or post assessment or review lesson for your class. If you plan on using this in your own classroom follow the steps to print out the materials needed and download the app on your smartphone to have a fun, engaging lesson for your students!
